Glitchkraft Guest Room at Emerson Contemporary 2019

Back in September last year, Deb Step and I connected with Alison Tanenhaus to create a ‘guest room’ as part of Alison’s exhibition at Emerson Contemporary. Alison was showing large body of work as part of an inaugural show curated by Leonie Bradbury at Emerson Contemporary.

Deb Step and I were invited to design a small room to showcase a weekly rotating group of guest artists in the exhibition. We displayed various video projects and ‘jams’ for the first week of show.

The video below shows off the room layout and some of the monitors with recent video jams.

The only ‘video’ I made specific for the room was “Pills” shown below.

The content is from a video of pills floating in water I shot on my phone about 6 months before the exhibit. The video is a perfect loop made in After Effects experimenting with a data mosh plugin.

Special Thanks to the staff at Emerson Contemporary, Leonie Bradbury, Alison Tanenhaus, and Deb Step.
